charborough park

Charborough Park has a wonderful heritage: a royal manor built in 1086, the present house was completed in the 1650s and the formal garden were laid out in the 1680s. The estate is set inside an ancient deer park with roaming red and fallow deer and wonderful woodland providing excellent sport on every drive.

High bird specialists should probably go elsewhere but the estate is perfect for those of us who would rather not shoot 45g 3s: the emphasis here is on medium sized days showing a variety of sporting birds in a friendly, well organised but relaxed atmosphere. Lunch is held in the Almer Shoot Room with a large wood burner, giving guests the chance to warm up or dry off ready for the afternoon’s activity.
